We are glad to announce that Central European Hydrogen Corridor (CEHC) has been included in the first list of EU Projects of Common Interest (“PCIs”) and Projects of Mutual Interest (“PMIs”) under the revised TEN-E policy confirmed by European Parliament and the Council of the EU.

The list, which contains key projects for the development of European energy infrastructure to support the realisation of the EU’s energy and climate objectives, is now in force.

The selected PCI and PMI hydrogen and electrolysers projects came out of three regional groups:

  • Hydrogen interconnections in Western Europe (HI West)
  • Hydrogen interconnections in Central Eastern and South Eastern Europe (HI East)
  • Baltic Energy Market Interconnection Plan in hydrogen (BEMIP Hydrogen).

In total, the European Commission received 179 applications. Out of them, 65 of hydrogen and electrolyser projects emerged as a part of the published PCI and PMI list.

In the regional group HI East, where CEHC was categorized, only 4 projects out of more than 50 applications were successful.

Achieving PCI and PMI status provides a number of advantages to our projects, such as simplified and faster permitting procedures or the possibility to receive financial support from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).
